Wicked Wolf Triathlon

2013 Update!

Hi folks! Many of you will know by now, some maybe not, that due to family and work commitments this year, we will be taking a break from running the triathlon in 2013.

We hope to be back in 2014 with the full scale event, but for this year we will be organising several smaller events throughout the year (please ‘like’ our facebook page to keep up to date!) and hopefully we will still be on track to run the 10k, 5k runs, with the addition of a kiddies mini fun run this summer (date to be confirmed), and our fabulous ceilidh will still be in the calendar.

So, sincere apologies to those who thought “I’ll do it next year” but hopefully we’ll see you next year, if not before! By that point our newest addition to the Wicked Wolf team will be running the show for us, (or maybe just running rings round us?!)

All the best,

Wicked Wolf Team

The Wicked Wolf Triathlon is an awesome off road fun Triathlon set in the infamous stomping ground of the mean and nasty Wolf of Badenoch, the notorious 14th Century Lord of Badenoch and Earl of Buchan, famous for terrorising the northern counties and sacking Elgin Cathedral. The route will take you over untouched hill and heather moorland towards Carrbridge and around the village, taking in views of the Cairngorms and the Badenoch and Strathspey Valley on the way.

The Wicked Wolf Triathlon involves of a 3km run overlooking the Wicked Wolf’s ruined Castle, a 30km mountain bikerace over the moor hill to Carrbridge, and a low level 9km woodland run around the outskirts of the village, topped off with a ceilidh and a boogie in the Village Hall afterwards, all in aid of Cancer Research UK.

The event is intended to get everyone involved in a multi sport challenge, those of you who have been affected by Cancer in some form or another and you want to get out there and do something about it, or those who just fancy a challenge and want to push themselves a bit further but are a little bit put off by full on lycra triathlon suits! * Please be aware parking is extremely limited at lochindorb and competitors must not take private transport to the race start, transport is provided by coach. Friends, family and supporters must not park at the far end of the loch as we need full access to the lochside track in the case of an emergency. The parking area at the far end of the loch is reserved for kayak trailers, the lorry, the Red Cross and organisers transport.*

This event is kindly organised by a supporter of Cancer Research UK and not by Cancer Research UK. Any concerns or queries about the event should be directed to the organiser of the event whose contact details can be found in the “contact us” section. Cancer Research UK is not liable for any loss suffered by anyone as a result of their attendance at the event.’
